Swatch Launch New Tiffany Brand

Swatch, one of the biggest watch manufacturers in the world is about to launch a new range of ladies watches under the Tiffany brand. The watches in the collection will retail at between £2,000 and £5,000.

The Board Director and President of Swatch, Arlette-Elsa Emch believes that the Tiffany Watch will be the perfect gift from a man to a woman. It is being marketed to urban, well educated women between the ages of 28 and 45.

There are now more than 700 Swatch shops worldwide, including 8 shops in the UK. Swatch began in the 1970s and is said to have saved the ailing Swiss watch industry with their innovative plastic watches. The original plastic watches now sell online for around £740!

Swiss Watch Industry Reports Slight Recovery

The Swiss watch industry is showing signs of a slight recovery for the second month running and as people buy more ladies watches and mens watches a slight overall recovery in the industry is forecast.

For the second month running sales of Swiss made watches have slowed down in their decline according to figures which were published by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry.

Some sectors of the market are showing stronger signs of recovery than others – for example sales to China have risen by 20% last month.

Mafia Watch Racket Foiled

Police in Italy have foiled a watch racket and arrested several suspects in connection with the racket on Wednesday. The haul they seized included men's watches and ladies watches and prestigious brands like Rolex.

There were reported to be over 40 Rolex watches and over 100,000 euros in cash.

Police suspect that the cash and watches are associated with the Cordi-Cataldo family who are linked to the Calabrian Mafia

Seiko have redefined their Sportura collection for 2009. Sportura has been the flagship sports range for Seiko watches for several years.

The redesigned has retained the unique character of the range but it has been updated for 2009.

R 'n' B Star Admits to Shoe and Watch Obsession

The R ‘n’ B star Usher has admitted to having an obsession with both shoes and watches. He admits to owning about 10,000 pairs of shoes and that he finds it impossible to resist buying new pairs.

He also owns about 80 watches. The watches are from a variety of brands and are not all high-end designer watches. They range from Cartier and Rolex through to Seiko watches and G-shock. Like a lot of men, he simply loves watches for their style and functionality.

His obsession doesn’t end there…he also admits to owning hundreds of suits.
